Is Group Therapy Right For You?
We currently offer group therapy for adults who stutter, led by Jessica Hudson, M.A., CCC, SLP. The focus of the group is avoidance reduction and facing your fears related to communication and stuttering. It is a very supportive group that meets once a week for 90 minutes (currently on Wednesday nights at 6:00 pm online). If you are interested in joining group, please contact us and we can help determine if this would be a good fit for you.
In most situations, an individual evaluation will be completed before joining group to find out what brought you to speech therapy and how the SSTA group can help. This evaluation is intended to make the speech therapy process easy and smooth while taking the time to understand your specific goals for therapy. Once the initial evaluation is complete, you are now an active client at SSTA and you are welcome to join the group and/or participate in individual speech therapy sessions.
*We plan to add group therapy for school-age children, teens, and a support group for parents soon!*
